MEMBERSHIP AND TRADE UNION ORGANIZATIONS

The number of trade union organizations and members in individual cantons, Brčko District and municipalities depends on the concentrations of the specific activity covered by PPDIVUT Trade Union B&H. The largest membership and PPDIVUT trade union organizations number is in the area of Sarajevo, Tuzla, Una-Sana Canton, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and Zenica-Doboj Canton.
The most numerous PPDIVUT trade union organizations with the oldest trade union, with more than hundred years old tradition, exist in d.d. Klas Sarajevo (about 1300 members), Sarajevo Tobacco Factory (nearly 300 members), Sarajevo Brewery (about 600 members), Tuzla Brewery (more than 200 members). The above mentioned companies and their a hundred years old existence represent the main source of trade union activists and trade union tradition and at the same time driving force of economic development within the PPDIVUT Trade Union B&H activity.
The family of the Independent PPDIVUT Trade Union B&H incorporates trade union organizations of large, recently established local and foreign economic systems. Some of them are "Klas" Sarajevo, Sarajevo brewery and MIMS Sarajevo, with the chain of production and sales companies and facilities throughout BiH and abroad, with about 4000 members, whose activity brings together the appropriate trade union and Coordination Committee, Slovenian Mercator with sales facilities in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Mostar, Kakanj, Živinice, Banovići, Banja Luka, Brčko District and with about 600 members, Concern Agrokor from Zagreb with sales and manufacturing facilities Sarajevski kiseljak, VELPRO, Zvijezda, Konzum, Ledo Čitluk, Agrokor – Zagreb d.o.o. Grude with about 400 members, Orbico Sarajevo, about 250 members, Coca-Cola HBC BH, more than 100 members. Trade union centres are established within the Orbico and Sarajevski kiseljak companies, in Laktaši and Banja Luka.
Significant efforts have been made in Bosansko-posavski Canton to increase the number of members and trade union organizations as well as in West-Herzegovina communes where the production capacities of «Agrokor!, «Ledo» Čitluk and «Agrokor» Grude and also the «Lijanović» company whose trade union organization is a significant factor in increasing the membership within PPDIVUT in this region.
Important role is played by PPDIVUT trade union organizations from the area of Goražde Canton where the first Trade Union organization was founded  consisting of workers from several private entrepreneurs and whose number is over 100 members with tendency of constant growth in number.
Within the municipality of Srebrenica there is Communal trade union branch coordinating the work of several trade unions among which is the trade union of individual agricultural producers who have been able to articulate their specific interests through the PPDIVUT.
These several examples are just an approximate image of the organization of members in the trade unions as the area and possibilities for further expansion are large. Moreover, workers from «Akova – Impex», Coca-Cola and HBC B-H have not been organized within trade unions together with workers from the hotel complex in Neum and larger number of firms from the area of Hercegovačko-Neretvanski Canton and there are others located in the rest of cantons. More recently an increasing interest has been evidenced by the workers for trade union organizations covered by the PPDIVUT Trade Union B&H from the region of Repulic of Srpska.
Therefore we invite all workers and employees who have not been organized within trade unions to let us know so that we may help them to establish trade union organizations and to join us in the constant struggle for workers' and employees' rights, since
