INFORMATION AND PUBLISHING ACTIVITY
Exceptional attention has been paid to the information for membership and wider public on activities of PPDIVUT Trade Union B&H. Problems that arise and readiness of PPDIVT bodies and organizations to fight in overcoming these, define dynamics of relying on public media. All trade union tasks are made accessible for the media representatives enabled to report from the spot on conferences or thanks to public news releases issued by bodies and organizations of PPDIVUT . Media centres both within Bosnia and Herzegovina and without it have been able to release around thousand news reports on the work and activities of PPDIVUT Trade Union B&H for the past six years.
The PPDIVUT’s own publishing activity has an enormous impact especially after the newspapers «Word From Trade Union» whose first issue was printed in July 1997. Twenty eight issues of «Word from Trade Union» have been printed for the past period so that membership disposes with all essential information. Apart from this, everyday activity and its intensity influence decision on publishing information bulletins appearing whenever it is necessary.
The need to develop publishing activity and specialized literature was always felt by the leadership of PPDIVUT as the organization’s own challenge since it was necessary to offer members and staff something new and appropriate to the society in Bosnia and Herzegovina in specific position of post-Dayton and the role of trade union. Thus in the period of 2001 – 2010 the PPDIVUT Trade Union published specialized books by Mehmed Avdagić – chairman of PPDIVUT, namely: TRADE UNIONS OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA AND THEIR ROLE IN THE SOCIAL TRANSITION, SOCIAL-PROTECTIVE FUNCTIONS OF TRADE UNIONS IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA SINCE 1990, "HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT" , "CONTEMPORARY ROLE ANDFUNCTIONS OF TRADE UNIONS IN REALIZATION OF SOCIAL POLICY" , "STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT" AND "BASIS AND THEORIES OF MANAGEMENT" then HANDBOOK FOR MEMBERS OF COUNCIL STAFF
AND UNIONS 'COUNCILEMPLOYEES' , and MONOGRAPH OF THE INDEPENDENT TRADE UNION OF WORKERS EMPLOYED IN AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND TOBACCO INDUSTRIES, WATER MANAGEMENT, CATERING, TOURISM AND COMMERCE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA FROM 1905 – 2005 by Ivo M. Andrić.
Books, handbooks and Monograph are primarily intended for the trade union staff and membership but may prove to be of use to others following the work of trade union.
Apart from this, and thanks to efforts of editorial board of «Word from Trade Union» in cooperation of PPDIVUT and Independent Trade Union of non-metal chemicals supported by International trade union of workers in stuff industry, water management, catering and similar activities in 2000 «Trade union handbook comprising the basic instructions concerning the work and organization of trade unions». The PPDIVUT Trade Union published in 1999 a handbook entitled «TRADE UNION IN THER PROCESS OF PRIVATIZATION» by Dr Salih Fočo.
In addition to the titles mentioned above the book of maxims on worker themes by our Ivo Mijo Andrić, a long-time trade unionist and a writer– should be specially mentioned here. The book is entitled Trade unionism and ‘workerisms’ which we warmly recommend to our membership and public.
